My Hat from Mexico Worn by my International Friends
I went to Enseñada México in June for eight days. While I was there I bought a hat that I liked which I wore to the picnic yesterday. We had a little more fun with my hat. It was worn by friends from China and Vietnam although I could not get my friend Phung to wear it lol.
Some of my friends from China have told me that my hat is similar to ones worn in China. I do not know if they are just being nice though lol. Fun moments like these remind me of how small the world really is. I enjoyed my time in México a few months ago and yesterday I enjoyed time with my friends from China, Japan, and Vietnam at a picnic.
Lien from Vietnam wore my hat, but we were not able to convince our friend Phung to try it on.
Alex was the one who really looked cool with my hat.He has kind of that James Bond persona
I look forward to another year of fum moments with my international friends and to learning more about the world from them. Last year at this time I had no idea I would go to México. I also did not know I would meet my new friends Daniel, Nancy and Johnny. My international friendships bring adventure and meaning into my life.
Sunday Fun with my International Friends- Picnic Time
Today was another fun Sunday with my friends. We had a good class with some stimulating questions. After class we sat in on worship service and enjoyed the music. After worship we headed out to Homes Lake for a picnic. It was a good opportunity to share a picnic before the school year gets too hectic and a chance to welcome people back.
It is a blessing to see my friends each week and today was a double blessing because we had our picnic. It was a bit windy, but we had fun. The age range was from 2 1/1 to over 60 thanks to the son and mother of a new friend in our class.
Kathy made a new friend and learned some Chinese words as well. Some friends had not seen each other for while like Phung and Lien.
This afternoon was another great example of why I look forward to my Sundays with my friends. It is gratifying to be able to facilitate opportunities for my friends to have fun, enjoy each others company, and have positive experiences in Lincoln. It was a wonderful start to a new week.
