I am studying Spanish but would also like to learn Chinese
I just finished my mid-term exam in my español class last night. So far the class has been going okay for me with an A average. Language is fascinating to me and I love to learn words and phrases in other languages. I am studying Spanish now, but would also like to learn Chinese. I have many friends from China and their culture is interesting to me.
When I went to China Night last semester, I thoroughly enjoyed experiencing a glimpse of Chinese culture. A culture that is thousands of years old is intriguing to me. I shared my idea of taking Chinese with a few friends from China and they suggested I focus on español for now. Of course I love a challenge, so who knows maybe in January, if I can fit it into my schedule, I will take a beginning Chinese course at the Confucius Center at UNL.
If I am fortunate, I will visit China someday. My friendships with my friends from China at UNL has given me a desire to go. It would be awesome to be able to speak some Chinese when I do go. In the meantime, I would like to be able to communicate with my friends in their language.
