China Night at UNL- my favorite part- the Jasmine Blossom Dance
I thoroughly enjoyed all of the performances at China Night. They were all entertaining and well performed. I cannot really say which one was my favorite because they were all equally good, but if I were to chose only one I would have to go with the Jasmine Blossom Dance. I had friends in many of the performances, which is why it is hard to choose a favorite, but I do have some reasons why I would say the Jasmine Blossom Dance was number 1 and the others all number 1A.
The Jasmine Blossom Dance was the polar opposite of me. It was elegant, graceful, artistic, and beautiful. I am none of things. No one has ever accused me of being elegant, graceful, artistic or beautiful
My dancing has been compared to a Hippo or other animals, but never a Jasmine Blossom. My clothing style has never been called elegant, in fact my friends were all a buzz just because they saw me in a Sports Coat for the first time. I think that is why I appreciated the elegance and grace of the Jasmine Dance, the artistry it took to make the costumes and the fans and the graceful movements and the beautifully adorned women. I cannot believe I am even writing like this. Normally I think of a Quarterback Sack in Football as graceful lol. I think the reason I appreciated it so much is that in my work I meet people who have been victims of cruelty and hear their stories, so the gentle grace of the Jasmine Blossom Dance reminded me there is also beauty in the world. In this blog today I will share the pictures I took of the Jasmine Blossom Dance in the sequence they were taken.
